Artist Statement
The Artist has traveled in England and Italy, photographed beautiful landscapes, buildings and people and works from her photographs and live models to create her paintings and sculpture.
A native of Washington State, Pamela Searcy grew up in Central Washington where her family owned orchards on the Yakima Indian Reservation. Drawing and painting were her favorite adventures as a child and she continued her interest in art studying Design, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Art history at Seattle University and the University of Washington.
After completing under graduate and graduate degrees from Seattle University, Pamela taught elementary school and then art at Inglemoor High School. With the demands of three small children the Artist was busy at home for several years, keeping up with her artistic interests as time allowed. Now that the children have completed their university degrees, the Artist is enjoying a new freedom to arrange her interests around a life long love of artistic expression.
Following retirement, Pamela returned to Yakima, Washington where she currently resides.

Ike uses a wood lathe to turn unusual wood pieces into his fanciful creatures and small carefully finished wooden boxes. The pens are large and dramatic or small and colorful. Some pens compliment specific careers or hobbies and others are simply fun.
Turned wooden boxes are perfect for securing tiny treasures.

I find clay to be an amazing, versatile creative medium for self-expression. With no formal training in clay work, I have been able to just follow where my imagination takes me. Adding objects from nature, feathers, wood, shells, and even other unexpected objects such as beads, metal and wire keeps my clay creations visually interesting and unusual. Hopefully, my clay work delights the imagination of the viewer as well.

Bob is best known for his paintings and pastels of the Yakima River Canyon and the inland Northwest. Regardless of the subject, his work explores the dynamic contrasts of light and shadow, solid and void, permanence and ephemerality, and the interaction of nature and humanity. Pat and Karen Miller are Central Washington mixed media artists. Our techniques and art have been subjects of numerous magazine articles and we have been invited to demonstrate and show, in Utah, Texas, California, France, New Zealand and local clubs. I love my scissors. As a self-taught artist, I employ them to create whimsical, vintage inspired collage pieces. Picking up and playing with paper consumes most of my waking hours. Any leftover time is usually devoted to walking my three loyal dogs through the family orchards in Yakima and Tieton, Washington.

Artist Statement
I create live edge tables from various wood types of the Pacific Northwest and California Redwoods.
I also create additional one of a kind wood art pieces. My work transforms locally salvaged wood furniture and reclaimed timber into functional modern art. By integrating the history of reclaimed timber with clean, modern elements I hope to highlight the beauty in the discarded. Every knot, crack and grain pattern in the wood records a story. My goal as a wood artist is to give the wood a renewed purpose to be enjoyed for years to come.

Artist Statement
I grew up in a working-class neighborhood where there were no artists around as far as I could remember. When the time came, I attended college and traveled. My point of view evolved. Slowly I gave myself permission to make art. I learned black and white photography, fell in love with ceramics, then stitching, knitting, spinning, book-making and mixed media collage.
My aesthetic is earthy grunge with lots of texture, usually evocative and almost always a little odd.

As a cabinetmaker for forty years, I have been fortunate to work in exhibit ships that constantly do creative projects. This is all in the past. I now find myself using a broad range of salvaged materials, found objects, as well as photos and drawings to tell a story of my worldview, or just feature an object for its beauty or simplicity.

I grew up in Idaho, with great freedom to roam the landscape that surrounded me. Since then, I have always preferred to be outside, loving the weather, the views, and the animals who live there.
Retiring from my life as a Therapist, I reclaimed my artist self, and moved to Yakima. I have been painting and showing (and selling) my work since.

I am a self-taught artist that moved to Yakima in 2005. Everywhere I looked the landscape gave me inspiration to paint. My husband, also an artist, has been my greatest motivator to keep on painting. I started working with oil pastels, and now work with acrylics. I feel the need to paint every day.

'Northwest Artist with an International Touch'.
Randal Leek is a Yakima based artist specializing in wood sculpture. The creative endeavors of his family nurtured his love for sailing, climbing, skiing and the arts from which their support continues to be a source of influence and inspiration. From an early age, he developed his artistic bent through the aesthetics of nature as well as the elegant lines of Scandinavian furniture prevalent in the Northwest. Consequently, his sculptures combine rough, natural features with flowing, polished surfaces. However, life being what it is, he pursued his other interests in international humanitarian assistance and engineering, along with sculpture, and after 25 years overseas, has devoted his days in Yakima Valley to studio work full-time.

I grew up in Naches and after a career in teaching found a new passion in art. I particularly love woodturning thanks to John Barany who mentored me and inspired me to develop as a wood artist. I love wood as a medium since there is already a work of art hidden in every piece telling its own story with each line of grain offering the wood artist the privilege to feature that beauty in some creative way. Recently, I have been having fun experimenting with barbwire sculpture, utilizing a bit of the many miles of rusty wire left behind on the hillsides of our valley.

I was born and raised in Burien, Washington. I had always been interested in photography but really caught the photo bug in 2011 shortly after losing my husband. I needed a distraction and bought my first DSLR camera. I was hooked immediately!
I remarried in 2016. A work opportunity for him brought us to Yakima in 2019, allowing me to retire from my 18-year City of Tukwila job. I'm in love with the very distinct four seasons here and always say that my favorite season is the transition between them. I'm an avid hiker and the landscape makes for some challenging hikes and beautiful photos!

I am Steven Platt, retired art teacher and an outdoorsman- loving to fish and hike. My subject matter includes wildlife, fish, and landscapes. Fish tend to b a focal point because of the beautiful colors found in them. I love to experiment, which shows in different subjects and styles. I also was on the street painting circuit for 12 years, creating chalk art across the US and into Canada.
Born and raised in Washington state, I spent the first third of my time on the west side and moved to eastern Washington with a job. I graduated from Camas High School, received a BA in Art Educ from WWU, went to the UW for a year, and received an MA in Sec Educ from Grand Canyon Univ. I taught for 35 years- 25 as an art teacher in the Valley. I also taught 4th grade and coached several sports

Artist Statement
Pam Sharp, founder of Prairie Skullpture, creates her one-of-a-kind pieces by combining the rich culture of the Pacific Rim with the western flare of Wyoming. Pam has worked with a variety of media including ink and, most recently, watercolor. You will find that Pam doesn't choose colors that one would usually associate with her subjects. She chooses colors to portray an upbeat, sometimes whimsical attitude; preferring to give her subjects soul more so than accuracy.
Pam designs paintings, cards, and accessories that can be used residentially or commercially. The watercolor paper is stretched to assure that the paintings lie flat and don't buckle, and the cards are printed on quality paper for easy writing. During the design process, great care is taken to assure that the designs are never duplicated.

I always enjoyed drawing but did not have time to paint until I retired in December of 2018. Then the pandemic hit. I took an online watercolor class and loved it. I was very fortunate to find a local artist willing to teach in his home. His medium was oil, so I switched and found I loved it even more! I am learning every day and hope you enjoy my work.
