Artist Statement

The Artist has traveled in England and Italy, photographed beautiful landscapes, buildings and people and works from her photographs and live models to create her paintings and sculpture.

A native of Washington State, Pamela Searcy grew up in Central Washington where her family owned orchards on the Yakima Indian Reservation. Drawing and painting were her favorite adventures as a child and she continued her interest in art studying Design, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Art history at Seattle University and the University of Washington.

After completing under graduate and graduate degrees from Seattle University, Pamela taught elementary school and then art at Inglemoor High School. With the demands of three small children the Artist was busy at home for several years, keeping up with her artistic interests as time allowed. Now that the children have completed their university degrees, the Artist is enjoying a new freedom to arrange her interests around a life long love of artistic expression.

Following retirement, Pamela returned to Yakima, Washington where she currently resides.

Ike uses a wood lathe to turn unusual wood pieces into his fanciful creatures and small carefully finished wooden boxes. The pens are large and dramatic or small and colorful. Some pens compliment specific careers or hobbies and others are simply fun.

Turned wooden boxes are perfect for securing tiny treasures.

Artist Statement

I find clay to be an amazing, versatile creative medium for self-expression. With no formal training in clay work, I have been able to just follow where my imagination takes me. Adding objects from nature, feathers, wood, shells, and even other unexpected objects such as beads, metal and wire keeps my clay creations visually interesting and unusual. Hopefully, my clay work delights the imagination of the viewer as well.

Bob is best known for his paintings and pastels of the Yakima River Canyon and the inland Northwest. Regardless of the subject, his work explores the dynamic contrasts of light and shadow, solid and void, permanence and ephemerality, and the interaction of nature and humanity. I love my scissors. As a self-taught artist, I employ them to create whimsical, vintage inspired collage pieces. Picking up and playing with paper consumes most of my waking hours. Any leftover time is usually devoted to walking my three loyal dogs through the family orchards in Yakima and Tieton, Washington.

Artist Statement

I create live edge tables from various wood types of the Pacific Northwest and California Redwoods.

I also create additional one of a kind wood art pieces. My work transforms locally salvaged wood furniture and reclaimed timber into functional modern art. By integrating the history of reclaimed timber with clean, modern elements I hope to highlight the beauty in the discarded. Every knot, crack and grain pattern in the wood records a story. My goal as a wood artist is to give the wood a renewed purpose to be enjoyed for years to come.

Artist Statement

I grew up in a working-class neighborhood where there were no artists around as far as I could remember. When the time came, I attended college and traveled. My point of view evolved. Slowly I gave myself permission to make art. I learned black and white photography, fell in love with ceramics, then stitching, knitting, spinning, book-making and mixed media collage.

My aesthetic is earthy grunge with lots of texture, usually evocative and almost always a little odd.

Artist Statement

I grew up in Idaho, with great freedom to roam the landscape that surrounded me. Since then, I have always preferred to be outside, loving the weather, the views, and the animals who live there.

Retiring from my life as a Therapist, I reclaimed my artist self, and moved to Yakima. I have been painting and showing (and selling) my work since.
